“As the world transitions towards sustainable energy, Nepal has the potential to capitalize on its abundant renewable resources to foster a cleaner, more self-reliant energy future. This is particularly important given the ongoing challenges of air pollution, which has become a major concern for public health and the environment in Nepal. By embracing technologies like green hydrogen and green ammonia, we can not only reduce energy dependence but also tackle air quality issues by moving towards cleaner, low-carbon alternatives. Through focused research and innovation, these technologies can drive significant progress in creating a sustainable, clean energy system for Nepal.”

Ms.Baidar is a final-year Chemical Engineering student at Kathmandu University and full time Intern Research Assistant at the Green Hydrogen Lab. She is focused on renewable energy technologies and their potential applications in sustainable energy solutions. Her research contributes to the development of green hydrogen and other innovative energy systems, aiming to support Nepal’s transition to a low-carbon economy

Major Responsibility at the Lab:

  • Research on SNG Production, Storage and Transportation.
  • Assistance in the setup and operation of a synthetic natural gas (SNG) production plant in the lab focusing on feasibility, and optimization.
