Green Hydrogen: Powering Nepal’s Sustainable Fertilizer Future
Green hydrogen, produced using renewable energy such as Nepal’s abundant hydropower, offers a promising pathway toward sustainable fertilizer production and reduced dependence on imported fossil-fuel-based fertilizers.
Sajana Nepal is a 2026 graduate of Kathmandu University with a major in Chemical Engineering. She joined the Green Hydrogen Lab as a Research Assistant in August 2026, focusing on the application of green hydrogen in Nepal’s fertilizer industry, particularly sustainable ammonia and urea production using the country’s abundant hydropower resources.
