“Green Hydrogen Lab works towards the idea of using hydrogen as a potential energy carrier for the transition to the green energy economy. Therefore, utilizing this potential carrier of energy to produce Green Methane gas would not only serve as an alternative to LPG but also aid in achieving towards the low carbon energy source.”

Ms. Thapa is a final year student at the Department of Chemical Science and Engineering, Kathmandu University. She joined the GHLab as an undergraduate Intern Research Assistant on September 2021 for the partial fulfilment of three-month internship credit to her Bachelor degree and is working on the Green Fuel research area.

Major Responsibility at the Lab: Overall study of practical feasibility, design and production of Green Methane gas in Nepal scenario.

Research Area: Technical Assessment and Establishment of Green Methane as an Alternative Cooking Fuel in context of Nepal.

Involvements:

Intern RA (September 2021- November 2021)

Responsibility:

  • Study the practical feasibility of the Green Methane gas application in context of Nepal.
  • Study the total cost of capital and cost of energy for Green Methane gas production.
  • Prepare a report for overall pilot scale production of Green Methane gas as an alternative to LPG in Nepal scenario.
