HYDROGEN PRODUCTION USING ALUMINIUM AND SODIUM HYDROXIDE

Abstract

An alternative is the hydrogen economy to replace the unsustainable fossil fuel economy and control the pollution. Ongoing research is underway to develop environmentally sustainable and economical hydrogen production technologies that are necessary for the hydrogen economy. The use of aluminium or its alliances to reduce water or hydrocarbons to the hydrogen is one of the promising means of hydrogen production. The chemical reaction of aluminium with sodium hydroxide has created highly pure hydrogen gas. Multiple molarity of sodium hydroxide and its molar relation with Aluminum was carried out to produce hydrogen faster. This study provides an overview of the green energy generation from the aluminium based hydrogen at lower cost which is environment friendly.
